With half the season gone, Kobe Bryant has scored 1123 points which ranks him first overall for total points this NBA season. He now has a career 26, 913 points and is only 33 points shy of moving into eighth place on the all-time NBA leading scorers list.
Bryant started the season 13th on the list of all-time scorers and has since passed John Havlicek, Dominique Wilkins, Oscar Robertson, and approaches Hakeem Olajuwon. At Bryant's current pace of 25.0 points per game over the Lakers remaining 37 games, he would finish the regular season with 925 more points for a total of 27, 838.
That milestone would place Kobe definitively in sixth place and only 744 points shy of Shaquille O'Neal. It will be an historic season if Kobe can move from 13th to 6th all-time in total NBA points, and he will continue to move up the all-time ladder in seasons to come.
Keep watching, I will be...
